Welcome to the website of Stephen McDaniel Photography.

We specialize in nature and fine art photography, as well as events in the Maryland and DC area. Our subjects include landscapes and scenics of many parts of the United States, from New England to Florida to Hawaii, as well as strong coverage of Maryland and the mid-Atlantic area. Honey bees and beekeepers are a specialty and some of our most-published images.

Our picture file also includes photographs of many other insects such as butterflies, bumblebees, and native bees, in addition to spiders, ticks, and other arachnids. We have many pictures of birds, ranging from hummingbirds to eagles and egrets, including a number of endangered species.

An expert close-up photographer, Steve has many macro images of details of flowers, plants, and insects that bring to light the unseen world of the small. Any image on the site can be used for editorial publication, advertising, or for fine art. We print, mat, and frame pictures in-house to archival standards for exhibiting in homes, offices, galleries, and museums.
